Foundation StageWelcome to our foundation blog, please leave us your comments.
This week we have been learning all about ways to keep our bodies healthy. Two ladies from the oral health team came in to talk to us about our teeth. We learnt all about looking after our teeth, how to brush them, how often we should brush them and which foods are good and bad for our teeth.
Look at the amazing castles the children in early years have made at home. It is clear how much effort has gone into each creation. The children loved telling their friends about how they made their castles. They were so proud to show them in assembly.
A huge thank you to everone that completed the half term challenge.
The children in nursery have been reading the story of the Gingerbread Man. They have been using some of the repeated phrases from the story, ‘run, run as fast as you can you can’t catch me I’m the Gingerbread man!’ The children have followed a recipe to make their own gingerbread men.
This half term we have read the story ‘The GIngerbread Man’. We have talked about the story, written speech bubbles for the characters and we even made up our own stories, ‘the great escape of the chocolate cake’ and ‘the magical burger’. This week we have followed a recipe and baked our own gingerbread men. We enjoyed eating them in our key groups.
They were delicious!
The children have been busy decorating our Christmas tree. The teachers put the lights on and the children have done everything else. They have even made their own decorations including the angel for the top.
We certainly have an amazing tree. Thank you boys and girls!
Have a look at our display board!
This week we had a special visitor. The school lollipop lady came in to talk to us about road safety. She spoke to us about her job and her uniform and showed us how to safely cross the road.
The children then used what they had learnt during their outdoor play.
Thank you Miss Davies!
To get the children ready for writing we have been doing daily gross motor movements to music. We have been making large movements in the air with our arms, hands, fingers and shoulders.
